Many studies show that design contributes to the competitiveness of businesses. Its use, however, still remains limited. REDI (Regions support Entrepreneurs and Designers to Innovate) is a programme which is supported by the European Commission with the aim of sustaining territorial “ecosystems” that stimulate innovation through design.
Following a benchmark of successful design support projects, REDI is convinced that many opportunities are left to explore. Design needs to be identified by everyone in business as a key element of the innovation strategy. In the last 20 months, REDI has developed and tested different services by concentrating on the perspective of SMEs and business advisors.
On 10 March 2015, we will share our experiences and investigate how innovation supports existing initiatives. BEDA members are warmly invited to workshops, plenary session and a design exhibition on young design professionals’ works with SMEs – all in collaboration with the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union in Brussels.
